Chroma One of the Best Places to Work in Vermont
At an awards gala in Burlington on Nov. 30, 2006, Chroma Technology was honored to be among the top ten small business “Best Places to Work in Vermont.” “To be sitting in a room full of people honoring companies for treating their employees well is a pretty cool thing,” noted Denise Sensor, HR Director for Chroma.
Presented by Vermont Business Magazine, along with the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, Vermont Department of Labor, Vermont Department of Economic Development, Society for Human Resource Management – Vermont State Council, and sponsored by HMC Advertising, the 2006 award is the first of its kind in Vermont.
Best Companies Group facilitated the anonymous surveys and compiled the results to determine how companies feel they treat their employees versus how the employees perceive they are treated. Benefits packages, structure, philosophy, compensation, and commitment to community were also taken into consideration, along with company demographics such as turnover. The scores were combined to determine top rankings, and the anonymous feedback was provided to the applicant companies with data analysis and recommendation services by ModernThink, LLC.
One day earlier in Burlington, Chroma was named the Vermont Chamber of Commerce Exporter of the Year.
Chroma Technology Corp is an employee-owned manufacturer of optical filters for the biomedical imaging community worldwide.
