Long before it was popular, Chroma Technology’s founders were committed to the concept of paying each other, and everyone working with them, a living wage. Over 25 years ago the initial pay range was established with the idea that every employee should, if they desired to, be able to afford to buy a house. This philosophy means that a large percentage of Chroma’s hourly workforce is compensated at a high rate in comparison to market for their position.

We strive to offer exempt employees base cash compensation that is reasonable in comparison to the market, and that, when coupled with our generous benefits package, attracts and retains quality long-term employee owners.

 

Each employee has a share of the responsibility for Chroma’s success, and each earns a fair share of the rewards.

HEALTH Benefits

Chroma believes everyone should have affordable & comprehensive healthcare coverage. In that spirit, we offer a generous package that is rare in the private sector. Benefits include employer provided, no-deductible medical , dental, and vision insurance. Chroma pays 100% of monthly premiums for full-time employees. Spouses can be covered on the plan for under $500 a year, and families can be added for under $1,200 per year.

Wellness

Employees can contribute to flexible spending accounts and take advantage of our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and wellness opportunities which includes reimbursement of  external gym memberships/fitness classes. Our Bellows Falls location offers on-site treadmills and other light gym equipment, an on-site registered nurse for  biometric screenings, acute care, and mental health support, as well as massage therapy on-site every Tuesday.

PAID TIME OFF

Generous paid time off includes 80 hours of vacation time80 hours of sick/personal time, and 10 paid holidays in  an employee’s first year. In addition, parental leave, bereavement leave, short- and long-term disability is available to qualified employees when needed. After 3 years of employment, Chroma offers the oportunity for a 6-week sabbatical leave.

PROFIT SHARING & Retirement

Chroma contributes to employees' retirement accounts and profit sharing plans at a level way above market. Our profit sharing takes the form of 401(k) contributions, cash profit sharing, and stock profit sharing.

 

Additional Benefits

Employees' personal and professional development is supported via regular access to training and conferences, as well as a formal education assistance benefit. Chroma offers flexible and condensed work schedules to accommodate work/life balance. A sense of community is fostered with regular employee social events, including on-site BBQs and off-site parties which are extended to employees’ families.

89 North is small team dedicated to designing and developing custom product design and commercialization across a variety of markets, including R&D, optical system design, electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical equipment design, system design, integrated product development, project management and manufacturing.
